
STRATFORD – Boothe Memorial Park will be the setting for a free concert performed by the U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors Friday, July 2.
Since its formation in 1969, the internationally acclaimed ensemble has performed at several of the world’s largest jazz festivals including the Newport and Toronto Jazz Festivals, and North Sea Jazz festival in Holland.
Many of the Jazz Ambassadors have profession backgrounds. They are also composers and music arrangers whose talents help to create the band’s unique sound.
The concert’s repertoire includes contemporary jazz, patriotic, big band swing, popular, Dixieland and bebop. Also on the playbill are selections performed by vocalist, Master Sergeant Marva Lewis.
